Hello everyone! My name is Qian Bao a.k.a QuantumBytes. I am a specialist in social media, web design, multimedia production and online journalism. I received my Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Digital Media from the University of Toronto in 2018, and is expected to complete Master of Journalism at the University of British Columbia in 2020.
As an Apple user and an admirer of Steve Jobs and Johnathan Ive, I sincerely appreciate the aesthetics of minimalistic design. Minimalism has always been the basic principle for my professional work and modern lifestyle.
Personally, I am passionate about technology. The digital revolution has enabled creators like myself to unleash our creativity. For me, communication in the 21st century is about interaction and engagement through web 2.0. It’s about delivering quality content through creative and interactive methods that are enabled by the media technologies we have.
I am also very interested in video and audio production. Music has been an important part of my life ever since I was a kid. Although reading music sheet isn’t my forte, I am still able to play the piano by memorizing the melodies in my mind. This skill allowed me to composed and rearranged several pieces of music during my high school years. I also love to snap and film our beautiful world through the lens. Part from capturing the world through a camera, I am also experimenting smartphone and drone photography. I am looking forward to produce more quality media contents in the coming years.
My current photography and videography equipments are: Fujifilm X-T3 (with XF 18-55mm f2.8-4, XF 55-200mm f3.5-4.8 and XF 35mm f2.0), DJI Osmo Mobile 2, DJI Mavic Pro, iPhone Xs Max and Huawei P20. Editing machines are handled on an iPad Pro 10.5 Inch and MacBook Pro 15 Inch.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
