Hello everyone! My name is Qian Bao a.k.a QuantumBytes. I am a digitally oriented and and creative individual with multiple years communication experience with digital media, journalism and social media. I received my Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Toronto in 2018 and Master of Journalism at the University of British Columbia in 2020.
Media in the 21st century is about interaction and engagement through web 2.0, which requires delivering quality content through creative and interactive methods that are enabled by the media technologies we have. I have always challenged myself to create digital content from a unique perspective.
I’ve always had a keen interest in politics and history, and I constantly keep a close eye on stories on global affairs, national headlines and local stories. I constantly stay informed about current events and technological trends in our complex world. I believe that journalism inspires people by lending a voice to the underrepresented and keeping authorities in check. I strive to conduct thorough research and interviews to develop stories that are as accurate and comprehensive as possible while also maintaining a unique voice in my writing.
As an avid user of social media, I am aware of the different ways that such platforms have changed how the public consumes information and engages in conversation. That’s why I am active on social media to not only stay connected with my target audience but also to start meaningful discussions. I create content that generates interest and engagement around topics that are not only of personal interest and passion, but also consistent with the public interest. Social networking platforms have gradually become the main source of information for many, and I am constantly exploring the latest trends such as short videos and streaming.

Apart from capturing the world through a camera, I am also experimenting with new forms of videography and photography through smartphones and drones. I have experience in the post-production of graphics, video and audio through Adobe Suites, Final Cut Pro, and Logic Pro. I am also able to handle professional equipment ranging from DSLR to studio microphones.
