About

Hi, I’m Qian Bao, also known as QuantumBytes.

I’m a creative storyteller with a passion for digital media, journalism, and technology. With a strong foundation in communication and years of experience across digital platforms, I bring curiosity, versatility, and originality to everything I create. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Toronto and a Master of Journalism from the University of British Columbia.

Photography and videography are essential tools in how I document and share the world. I explore a wide range of visual formats, from still photography to dynamic video content. I’m especially interested in using emerging technologies to elevate storytelling, including mobile filmmaking and drone videography. Whether capturing the energy of a live event or the quiet detail of a landscape, I strive to create visuals that are emotionally resonant and visually impactful.

I have a deep and ongoing interest in politics, history, and current affairs. I follow global events, national developments, and local stories closely, and I approach journalism as a way to inform, inspire, and give voice to perspectives that need to be heard. I believe in thorough reporting, thoughtful interviews, and writing that balances precision with personality.  My goal is to inform and connect with readers while offering perspectives that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Above all, I value creativity, integrity, and a commitment to continuous learning. Whether behind a camera or in front of a keyboard, I’m always exploring new ways to tell compelling stories.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
